FAQ
- Q: How do i store the dip if there’s leftovers?
A: Just pop it into an airtight container and stick it in the fridge. It’ll be good for a day or two, but its best fresh cause the avocado might brown a bit. - Q: Can i use Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream?
A: Sure, you can swap in Greek yogurt if you’re looking for a healthier twist. Just note the flavor might be a little tangier. - Q: What can i serve this Avocado Boat Dip with?
A: It’s awesome with tortilla chips, crackers, or even a side to your sandwich. It adds a fun twist to almost any snack. - Q: Can i adjust the spice level in this recipe?
A: Yep, totally. If you’re not into too much heat, try using half of the jalapeno or remove the seeds. If you want more kick, add all of it. - Q: Is it ok to use a different type of citrus juice instead of lime juice?
A: You bet! Lemon juice works too, but lime juice helps bring out the creaminess of the avocado better.

Pro tip 1: If you want an even creamier dip, you can mash a little bit of the leftover avocado inside the bowl and mix it well with the sour cream.
Pro tip 2: Fresh lime juice really makes a difference, so make sure your limes are nice and juicy. If your juice doesnt come out easily, roll the lime on a counter to soften it before cutting.
Pro tip 3: Adjust the heat of the dip by adding more or less jalapeno. If you really like spice, try leaving a few seeds in for extra kick, but be careful not to overwhelm the avocado flavor.
Pro tip 4: To keep the avocado from browning, serve the dish immediately. If you need to store it for a short while, brush a bit of lime juice over the exposed surface to help slow down oxidation.
